CALLING A FEW FAITHFUL CREATIVES!

The Scrapping Everyday Miracles Blog is in need of 2-4 new Design Team members.    What I am looking for is a good team player, with faith, that can do at least one project (layout, card, mixed media/OTP, scripture) per month and make a feature post (In the Word Wednesday, Tips & Tricks, My Everyday Miracle) on the blog probably once or twice during a 3-6 month term. Also required is visiting the pages of our challenge entries to leave a comment, helping in selecting monthly winners, and having a personal Facebook page so you can be added to the Design Group where we do all our discussing and planning.  The deadline for entry is August 15, 2015.

If you are interested please send an email to me at NeedTime4Kroppin@aol.com or message my Facebook page. Be sure to put SEM DT CALL in the subject line.  Please include a bit about yourself, some samples of your best work, any DT experience you have had (but don't worry if you haven't...experience is not a requirement).

Looking forward to seeing some of those that have been participating in our challenges submit for an opportunity to join the team!

Tips Tricks and Techniques with Cara

I want to share a new technique that I recently tried. It's a window card with stamping around the window.

I started with a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card folded at the top. I put the card through a die cutting machine with a circle template to make my circle cut-out. You could actually use your pick of fun die-cut shapes for this technique--an oval, a scalloped circle, a heart, or ????

Then I used some cute floral stamps and stamped around the outside of the circle using a piece of scrap paper underneath. I made sure that I had different sizes of stamps so I could "fill in" where needed.

This was the stamped outcome. *NOTE: You don't have to use outline stamps that need colored in...you can also try this same technique with solid stamps, still remembering to choose different sizes to fill in.

I used my fun, bright Sharpies to color my images in.

Then with careful placement I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment and colored it in.

And here's the finished product...a bright, fun window card.

I hope I've inspired you to try this fun technique. ~Cara

IN THE WORD WEDNESDAY!

Hi everyone!  Paula here to share a bit from the word with you.

And here is the fun story that goes with it.

Last week I attended CreationFest NorthEast with my younger son Thomas. It is fairly rural camping in the mountains of Pennsylvania where I had absolutely NO phone signal.  There were some truly amazing speakers, lots of different styles of great Christian music and art.

On Saturday there was torrential rain and I spent the day in my tent with some art supplies (that is until 6:00 pm when it stopped raining just long enough to enjoy Natalie Grant and grab some LoMein for dinner.)  The rain returned at full force.

Here I am drenched after Natalie and before we were evacuated and my car got stuck in the mud.

I had a pad of watercolor paper, my Derwent Inktense blocks, gesso, watercolor crayons, a black Sharpie marker and some sketch pencils.  I have a good friend that comes in to the place I work.  He is homeless and he knows the word better than most people I know.  After the lunch is served we usually have the opportunity to share some time in scripture and conversation.  Before I left for Creation we were discussing the true meaning of fasting in Isaiah 58 verses 6-7.

I created the first page for my friend. I loved the bright colors of my InkTense blocks.

The next few scriptures were inspired by notes I took at the various speakers I went to during the week.  Here is Psalm 34:18 also done with the Inktense blocks.  Isn't it amazing how different colors can give such different effects?

Matthew 4:19 done with watercolor crayons.

Isaiah 41:13 also done with watercolor crayons.

Joshua 1:9 done with Inktense blocks and gesso.

and the last one was inspired by a bookmark that fell out of the devotional HOPE that I picked up at my local Goodwill.

Psalm 37:4 done with Inktense blocks.

I hope that you have enjoyed joining me today with some little bites of His Awesome Word.

Our Scripture Inspiration for this month is Psalm 34:18-
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
He rescues those who are crushed in spirit.

And here is a beautiful mixed media piece -

And, I spent Saturday in a tent with my art supplies at Creationfest Northeast.  It was raining so hard that much later that night we had to be evacuated and my car got stuck in mud. We had no phone signal for 5 days so I did not see what the Scripture focus was this month but it was one of several sheets of watercolor paper I worked on that day.
